In response to a request of the Irrigation Engineer, Rajanganaya, Non-Commissioned Officers’ (NCOs) Training School troops at Kalaoya, Saliyawewa made their fullest contribution to renovate the tank bund using sand bags when a leak was reported from the Minneriya Tank at Solewewa, Yaya 4 on Tuesday (30).
Using more than 2500 sand bags, troops managed to prevent the disaster and protected a lot of lives and properties in the area.
