NORTH: ARMY TROOPS engaged in search and clear operations in the general areas of MIRUSAVIL and AKKARAYANKULAM on Monday (02) recovered three claymore mines, two hand grenades, eleven rounds of T-56 ammunition and seventy-nine 60 mm mortar bombs.
Meanwhile, troops recovered two anti personnel mines from KALLARU in TRINCOMALEE on the same day (02).
In the meantime, naval troops in the east conducted search operations in TRINCOMALEE and recovered fifty-eight thousand and five hundred rounds of T-56 ammunition and 150 m of camouflage cloth from hospital area.
