Nation-wide Quarantine Curfew Extended Till 21 September

The nation-wide quarantine curfew, expected to end on Monday (13) has been extended till 4.00 am on 21 September in order to curb further transmission of the epidemic, announced General Shavendra Silva, Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army in a statement released this afternoon (10).

" HE the President during this morning's session of the Presidential Task Force for COVID-19 said that further relaxation of those restrictions after 21st Sept could be made depending on the outcome of a report, prepared by the Task Force in future, " Head NOCPCO further pointed out.

However, essential services, like pharmacies, agriculture, apparel & exports sector, Economic Centers, etc will continue to function as usual, including continuing combined vaccination projects of the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force and the Health sector for those who have not so far received the vaccine, including those above 20 years of age, he further added.
