The first flag, to mark the Nalanda College ‘Ranaviru’ Commemoration Day 2010 was pinned on His Excellency, the President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday (2) by the Nalanda College Head prefect during a brief ceremony at Temple Trees.
The commemorative event, organized by the Junior Old Boys’ Association, in cooperation with the students, Principal and teachers of the school, is held every year as a mark of respect to the War Heroes. Head prefect, Praveen Gunathillake pinned the first flag on the President who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Principal Mr Ranjith Jayasundara, Mr Sanjaya Fernando, Secretary to Junior Old Boys’ Association, Mr Ravi Ahangama, Chairman, Junior Old Boys’ Association, Mr Sanjeewa Perera, Vice President, Junior Old Boys’ Association and a few others participated in the event.
