65 Division under the Security Forces Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) in the past two weeks carried out a series of Muslim community-oriented welfare work in Nachchikuda area in the 651 Brigade Headquarters area under 65 Division.
After a special prayer session at Nachchikuda mosque, more than 450 Muslim and Tamil civilians were treated to a special lunch in connection with the recent ‘Iftar’ ceremony. On the same day 21 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (21 SLLI), 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (8 SLSR) and 10 SLLI troops provided special gift parcels to several poor families, lunch to civilians and took steps to begin a special English language training course for the benefit of school students in their respective areas.
65 Division officers and other ranks sponsored all those projects from their personal money. General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Brigade and Unit Commanders participated in those welfare projects.
