The second day of the 'Murali Harmony Cup T20' cricket tournament, which builds bridges of friendship and brings together young cricketers from across the island commenced today (22) at five venues.
Nalanda College - Colombo team vs. Kalutara Vidayalaya team entered the battle arena for the first match and Kilinochchi / Mullaittivu combined team vs. St. Aloysius College - Rathnapura fought in the second match at Kilinochchi Central College ground.
Major General Amal Karunasekara, Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi, together with General Officer Commanding - 57 Division, senior military officers visited the Kilinochchi Central College ground and met the contesting cricketers.
Later the Commander conversed with teams who are playing and bidding toss for the match between Nalanda College - Colombo and Kaluthara Vidayalaya.
Subsequently, Commander met the former cricketer Mahela Jayawardena at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi and had a cordial discussion regarding uplift of cricket in northern area and benefits of the Murali cup tournament.
Later, the Commander presented a memento to the former cricketer Mahela Jayawardena.
