Security Forces Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) with the support of Divisions, Brigades and Units made elaborate arrangements to mark peacetime Vesak in the province during May 24-26.
Display of Vesak pandols and lanterns, crafted by Army, Navy and Police personnel, two rice Dansel (free eating places), a colourful procession, a Bodhi Pooja, distribution of gift parcels containing garments among civilians, etc during this period drew huge crowds of spectators and devotees.
Sil campaigns at 59, 64 and 68 Divisions on the full moon day (24) attracted thousands of soldiers serving the SFHQ-MLT.
