64 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) inaugurated a Self Defence Training Course for Mullaittivu troops at the 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (14 SLSR) premises from April 24 to May 30 with the participation of 32 Other Ranks from 8 Sri Lanka Artillery, 14 SLSR, 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 17 (V) Gajaba Regiment.
This was initiated on a concept of Major General H.D.W.K.N Eriyagama RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 64 Infantry Division and the Chairman of the National Muay Thai Selection Committee.
Accordingly, the course was conducted by the Second Lieutenant M.A.T.D Mallawage and a team of instructors under the supervision of Brigadier J.M.S.G.B Jayamaha RWP RSP USP, Chairman of Sri Lanka Army Muay Thai Committee and Colonel P.C.C Perera psc, Head Coach of the Army Muay Thai team.
The closing ceremony of the Course was graced by the GOC, 64 Infantry Division where he awarded certificates to the participants after witnessing their demonstrations.
