On account of the World Children’s Day, troops of the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) with the support of donors and philanthropists donated pairs of school shoes among 201 most deserving students at Kannadukeni Tamil Mixed School, Kokkuthudavi Tamil School, Kokilai Tamil Mixed School and Kokilai Sinhala Mixed School on 3 October after inviting beneficiaries to the Vidyananda National College premises in Mullaittivu.
Major General M.K Jayawardane RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander Security Forces- MLT graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Prasad Lokubalasooriya, a past pupil of Colombo Royal College, Rev Father S.J Sathish Kumar, Mr. Sella Thambi Dilakshan, Manager of IOC Mulliyaweili and Mr.K Jogeshwaran, a philanthropist in Mullaittivu area provided the financial contribution to the event.
The event was organized by the 592 Infantry Brigade under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding of the 59 Infantry Division and the Brigade Commander of the 592 Infantry Brigade. 14 (v) Gemunu Watch troops provided their manpower and support for the success of the event.
Major General D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 59 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and parents and teachers participated in the distribution event.
