Mullaittivu Troops Assist Flood Victims

Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) quickly responded to the need of the hour and evacuated around 50 civilians of 20 families who were affected badly in the floods, caused by torrential rains in Mulliwaikkal East and West, Mullaittivu.  

After providing temporary shelter for them at the Chandran pre-school premises in the area, troops provided them with cooked meals with the support of the 681 Brigade Headquarters on the directions of Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT.

In addition, Mullaittivu Divisional Secretariat was alerted to the requirements of those victims and requested the supply dry rations until weather conditions return to normalcy. Similarly, 11 Field Engineer Regiment troops using Army machinery cleared waterways in the area, making water to drain.
