Multi-religious ceremonies of Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic and Christian faith preceded the 6th Anniversary commemorative events of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) which fell on June 5.
Anniversary arrangements, organized on the directions of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, overlooking Commander of the SFHQ-MLT, included an all-night Pirith chanting ceremony, attended by 18 Buddhist monks, headed by Ven. Panwila Gunarathana Nayaka Thero of Pandulagama Sambodhi Viharaya, a Hindu prayer session at Uththangarpilleyar-Thanniirippu Kovil, a prayer session at Mulliyaweli mosque and a service at St Jude Church at Mullaittivu.
The military formalities, connected to the anniversary celebrations got underway at the SFHQ-MLT premises after presenting a Guard Turnout and a parade to Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe who was the Chief Guest for anniversary arrangements. A formal troop address and an all rank tea party that ensued brought the programmes to an end.
