Mullaittivu Mini Army Tattoo Ends with Massive Crowd


The two-day long mini Army Tattoo in Mullaittivu ended with the participation of a massive crowd at the play grounds in Oddusudan College, Mullaittivu on Sunday (16).

On a concept of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, the event was organized by the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) with the close supervision of Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT.

Major General Jagath Dias as the Chief Guest at the Mullaittivu mini Army Tattoo, together with General Officers Commanding of all Divisions, Brigade Commanders of all Brigades and several other senior officers, opened the Tattoo.

On the second day (16), Governor for Northern Province, Major General (Retd) G.A Chandrasiri attended the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest. 

The Army Tattoo generally highlights undisputed skills of Army personnel, including conduct of mock simulation attacks and rescue of hostages, Army ceremonial features, free fall parachute jumps, dog shows, demonstration of the Bailey bridge construction, assembling of artillery guns and jeeps, stunt riding displays, physical training, drill displays, etc, perhaps never witnessed by those people thronging there.

During the event school students of Mullaittivu area displayed an eye catching dancing items. A total of about 5000 people witnessed the event.

Government officials, including Additional Secretary of Mullaittivu Divisional Secretariat, Senior officers, Officers and Other Ranks of Tri-forces and the Police, school students and the general public in the area were present to watch the event.
