With the objective of educating Army personnel serving under the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaitivu (SFHQ-MLT) on possession and sale of drugs, an awareness programme was held at the main auditorium on Sunday (20).
The programme was conducted under the directions of Major General P.U.S. Vithanage, Commander, SFHQ-MLT as an alternative against media reports which attribute the same to some service personnel too.
Colonel S. Kasthurimudali, Colonel General Staff, SFHQ-MLT attended the inauguration ceremony of the programme together with several senior officers.
The programme was conducted by the Sub Inspector of Police R.D.A.K. Wijerathne of Mankulam Police Station with the assistance of the Office of the Senior Superintendent of Police in Mullaitivu.
250 Army personnel representing Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area – Mullaitivu attended the programme.
Another round of lectures regarding the same topic will be held at 59, 64 and 68 Divisions during December 21 - 23.
