Movement Restrictions Continue as Announced-NOCPCO

As of this morning (23), a total of 2,909 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 3 Sri Lankan expatriates and 2,906 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 556 from Colombo District, 407 from Kalutara District, 354 from Gampaha District and 1,589 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (23), a total of 161,241 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them 64,247 were reported after the New Year. 126,994 of them after recovery have left hospitals. The affected 31,480 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

By Sunday (23) morning (past 24 hours), 1,635 recovered patients have left care centers. 46 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 1,178 by this morning (23).

By Sunday (23) morning, 105 persons have left from 8 QCs. As of this morning (23), 5,755 persons in 68 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (23) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged other than the isolated areas that have been lifted and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
