One more house, constructed under the auspices of Ministry of Defence and Urban Development (MoD&UD) Seva Vanitha Unit and the donors, Mrs Sabitha Perera and her spouse, Mr Upali Jayasinghe was formerly handed over to Mrs Nagandan Jayawadani at Kilinochchi on Friday (4).
The newly-constructed house on the advice of Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development (MoD&UD), Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, with the coordination of Chairperson, MoD&UD Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, was handed over to Mrs Nagandan Jayawadani.
The occasion was attended by Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), Mr Chandrakumara Murugesu, Member of Parliament, Government Agent for Kilinochchi District, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kilinochchi, General Officers Commanding of 65 and 66 Divisions, VIPs, the production team of the documentary ‘The Last Phase’ and villagers.
Mrs Jayawadani, a mother of four children and became a victim in the LTTE violence.
She turned disable as a result of LTTE violence and later became a voice against LTTE terrorism.
On a proposal made by Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence and Urban Development, SFHQ-KLN troops used their labour to build the house.
The house cost Rs 1.2 million.
