Army troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) at the invitation of the Board of Trustees at Wadduwakal Sri Sapthakanya Hindu temple, provided their labour and machinery for preparation of the temple’s surroundings before its annual festival, held on Tuesday (15).
Earlier SFHQ-MLT provided necessary timber for construction work of the temple and gave them all assistance in response to the request of the priests.
On the day of the festival (July 15), troops held a free eating house (Dansela) near the temple with the participation of 23 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops serving the area.
Major General Senaka Wickramaratne, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division opened the Dansela on the festival day.
