More Smuggled Turmeric Stocks Captured

Troops of 7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), together with Intelligence troops of the 54 Division HQ under Security Forces Wanni in Mannar apprehended 306 kg of illegal turmeric during a search at Mannar bridge roadblock on Wednesday (8).

A suspect was transporting the stock from Mannar to Eravur in a cab when he was nabbed. The worth of the bulk of turmeric is more than 1.836m. Turmeric stock and the vehicle were delivered to the Mannar Police for further investigations.
