231 Brigade troops of the 23 Division Headquarters under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) repeating their community services further delivered dry ration packets with essentials to 22 needy families and 12 temples in Batticaloa district on Friday (2) considering their economic hardships.
Each pack worth of Rs 3500/= contained rice, dhal, cereals, grains, spices, milk powder, dry fish, etc was delivered to 22 poor families and 12 temples in remote areas in Batticaloa.
The project was launched on the guidelines given by Brigadier Vijitha Hettiarachchi, Commander, 231 Brigade on the instructions of Major General Nalin Koswatte, General Officer Commanding of the 23 Division.
Accordingly, low income groups in Punnakuda area and temples in Eravur area received those relief packs.
