More LTTE-held Ground Liberated

MULLAITTIVU: MAKING ONE more achievement in the fight against terrorists, advancing Army troops in the general area of PALAMATTALAN captured yet another earth-bund, built by Tigers on   Sunday (29) and took control over more territory in the area.

Troops inflicted heavy casualties on terrorists and recovered one 250 HP Out Board Motor (OBM) during their immediate search in the newly-captured area, following confrontations.

Confrontations continued in the eastern sector of PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU and the west of IRANAPALAI inflicting heavy losses on resisting terrorists. By Sunday (29) evening advancing troops made further strides into the last LTTE stretch of land, thereby reducing the LTTE-held area further.

A bomb weighing 25 kg, nine hand grenades and a stock of anti personnel mines were also found by troops on immediate search and clear operations in those PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU east, UDAYARUKATTU and VADAKAN KULAM areas.
