With the dawn of the New Year, the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ - KLN) further expanding their humanitarian projects, took initiative to open a beauty culture saloon at Kilinochchi Harmony Centre and donate cattle and a newly-constructed house to a needy family in Kanagapuram area.
On Friday (3) Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-KLN donated the new house, built by 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops to the family in Kanagapuram who was without a proper shelter for the last few years.
At the same time, a total of 20 cattle were given away to Tamil families in Kilinochchi area with the aim of improving living standards of those people. Simultaneously, land deeds prepared for those civilians who had returned to their former places of residence were also distributed during the same chain of events that took place at the Kilinochchi Harmony Centre.
With the opening of the beauty culture centre, steps have been taken to provide training courses for unemployed girls before they are employed permanently either at the same place or elsewhere.
District Secretary for Kilinochchi, Pradesheeya Sabha member for Kilinochchi, respective General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, senior officers and a large gathering took part in the event.
