More Individuals after PCR Tests Leave Quarantine Centres

A total of 17 individuals upon completion of quarantine process at Hotel Blue Waters Quarantine Centre are ready to leave for their homes after conduct of PCR tests today (04) with Quarantine Certificates, a statement issued by Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe this morning (04) on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

By today (04), a total of 11,669 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QC have left for their homes.

As of now, 5,257 persons are still in quarantine in 45 island-wide QCs, run by tri services. In the past 24 hours, (03 June 6.00 am to 04 June 6.00 am) 53 more COVID-19 positive cases were reported. Among them were 19 from Qatar, 02 from Kuwait and 32 heroic sailors. By today (04), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stands at 795 in total. Of them, 420 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A group of 375 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement ended.
