More Humanitarian Projects Undertaken in the East

 
Distribution of books, artificial limbs, distribution of Thunder flashes for elephant chasing Shramadhana Campaigns, Dengue awareness progammes humanitarian assistance  for public festivals are some of the projects that had been carried out in different Divisions, Brigades and Units working under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E).
 
Troops of the 24 Division donated exercise books and pens, worth of Rs 15000.00 among 45 bhikkus(monks) studying at Hingurana Siri Dhamma Rathana Pirivena, Ampara during a brief ceremony held on Monday (9).
 
On the same day, same troops organized the distribution of artificial limbs, valued at Rs 360,000.00 among 18 disable personnel of major ethnic groups in Ampara area with the sponsorship received from the Centre for Handicapped.
 
General Officer Commanding of 24 Division as the chief guest, together with  senior officers participated in both programmes.
 
            In the meantime, troops of 8 Sri Lanka National Guard under the 232 Brigade of the 23 Division in SFHQ –East) distributed Thunder Flashes which can be used to drive away wild elephants in Iralakkulam Gramaseva Division, following requests. It happened at Iralakkulam School.
 
Meanwhile troops of the 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment  under 222 Brigade of 22 Division in the SFHQ-E organized a distribution of books among  10 students of  grade five at the Junior School in Bathiyagama with the sponsorship of  Pedryso Company on Tuesday (10).
 
Meanwhile, troops of 11 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment under the 233 Brigade of 23 Division serving the SFHQ-E together with villagers in the area, recently conducted a Shramadhana Campaign to clean the road leading from Narakamulla to Sinha  Junction  in  Koraleipattu area.
 
On a different occasion, troops of  the 6 Vijayabahu Regiment  under the 221 Brigade area of the 22 Division, together with residents in the area, launched  a Shramadhana Campaign to clean  the surroundings, near the Library at Nilaweli in  Trincomalee.
 
In the meantime 11 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment under the 233 Brigade of the 23 Division conducted an educational programme to educate on 45 students at Iralakkulam school in Iralakkulam on the spread of Dengue on Tuesday (10).
 
 
On the same day, troops of 27 Sri Lanka National Guard under the 222 Brigade of  22 Division assisted building a hut with sheets, arranging the stage, distributing plates and cups for lunch and decorating the festive premises of a ceremony, associated with the Primary School at Ilangathurei, Muttur in Trincomalee.
