More GN Divisions Locked Down & Isolated-NOCPCO

As of this morning (28), a total of 1111 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID -19 in the past 24 hours. 15 Sri Lankan expatriates and 1096 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 200 from Colombo District, 198 from Gampaha District, 119 from Kurunegala District and 579 others from different Districts, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (28), a total of 103,486 persons, inclusive of 98,237 of the fish market and Minuwangoda Brandix cluster have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. 94,856 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients have been so far discharged from hospitals and the rest 7,975 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

In the past 24 hours, 279 recovered patients have left hospitals and care centers. Eight deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country remains at 655 by this morning (28). As of this morning (28), 10,873 persons in 113 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By Wednesday (28) morning, Kuliyapitiya Police Division, Thittawellagama, Kumbukgete, Niraviya and Nikadalupotha GN Divisions in the Kurunegalla District, Adikarigoda, Miriswatte, Pelawatte North and Pelawatte East GN Divisions in the Kalutara District, Polhena, Heeralugedara, Kaluaggala and Aswennawatte East GN Divisions, Pumpuhar GN Division in the Trincomalee District, Imbalagoda and Katudampe GN Divisions in the Galle District, Siriketha GN Division in the Polonnaruwa District, Pallekumbura GN Division in the Matale District and the Dambulla Economic Centre have been kept isolated and locked down.
