More Face Masks Donated to Security Forces Struggling Against COVID-19

Through the coordination of Major General Suraj Bangsajayah, Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, the well-known businessman, Mr Nihal Wickramasingha gifted 18,000 face masks for use among Tri service personnel, engaged in the COVID-19 prevention and quarantine work after meeting Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters this morning (29).

Mr Nihal Wickramasingha who arrived at the Army HQ with his son met Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva and appreciated the services, being rendered by members of the armed forces in the control of COVID-19 epidemic in the country and spoke high of their committed dedication for the national requirement. Afterwards, the donor symbolically presented several of those face masks of high quality to Lieutenant General Silva.

In turn, Head of the NOCPCO gratefully acknowledged the gesture and thanked him for his thoughtfulness and timely requirement. Major General Suraj Bangsajayah was also present at the occasion.
