More Ex-Combatants Socialized after Rehabilitation

One more batch of 150 ex-LTTE combatants, fully rehabilitated after undergoing computer training, masonry, music and several other disciplines under office of the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, walked away free last Friday (12) to be reunited with their parents and guardians.

The occasion wore festive garbs as a group of those rehabilitees who formed their own music band entertained the gathering and rent the air with a number of Tamil and Sinhala melodies as the crowd burst into applause.

Towards the end of the ceremony, those rehabilitees received certificates and special gifts from the special invitees. Many of those rehabilitees have successfully followed courses in psychology, computer technology, social sciences, masonry, welding, mechanical work, etc during their stay for rehabilitation.

Major General S. Ranasinghe, Commissioner General Rehabilitation, Major General L.W.C.B.B Rajaguru and Brigadier A.P De Z Wickremaratne, a representative official from Allian Development Trust, Brigadier P.M.S.A Pallemulla, parents, guardians and well-wishers of the rehabilitees attended the occasion.
