More Contacts Confirmed Positive to Epidemic-NOCPCO

By this morning (11), a total of 105 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Among them were two seafarers serving in the Red Sea at Habaraduwa Police QC and other 103 were locally identified close contacts (101) of Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees, and 02 employees of the factory, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (11), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory is 1186.

The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 44 persons has arrived this morning (11) and all of them were to be sent to QCs for necessary quarantining.

Within the day (11), 90 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 02 persons are from Ruwala Kalpitiya QC, 03 persons from Habaraduwa Police QC, 60 from Airmobile Traning School QC, 07 from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, 04 persons from Hotel Dolphin QC and 14 from Biyagama Village QC.

Likewise, 50,726 individuals by this morning (11) have so far left home after quarantining. As of this morning (11), 10,224 persons in 92 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (10), 4754 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 325,763.
