Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama (Foundation of Goodness) which has been providing push bicycles, school accessories and other essentials to both civilians and students in the Wanni, made a donation of seven more bicycles for distribution among school children of low-income families in Kilinochchi during a simple ceremony at the Harmony Centre.
With that donation, the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) has to-date provided Kilinochchi civilians and students with 1000 push bicycles free of charge, courtesy Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama and other donors.
Mr Kushi Gunasekara, Director, Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama and Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN gave away those few bicycles to the students.
Push bicycles are popular and regarded as the easiest mode of transport for civilians in the north as well as in the Wanni for years and the cost factor for purchase of the same remains a hindrance to the pure.
