More than 50 soldiers serving 523 Brigade Headquarters under Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna volunteered to renovate the unattended and dilapidated play ground at Navatkuly Maha Vidyalaya, enabling more than 750 students to indulge in sports and games.
This particular Vidyalaya, formerly famous for extra-curricular sports activities went into oblivion with the passage of time since the playground turned unsuitable for use any longer.
In response to a request made by the Principal to the 18 Gemunu Watch (GW), Lieutenant Colonel S Bulathgama, 18 GW, Commanding Officer, together with 50 of his soldiers completely renovated the ground with the support of machinery, made available by Maga Engineering Company, engaged in development projects in the peninsula. After repairs and renovation, the school Principal received the place after profusely thanking the Army.
