As one more civil-military exercise of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), a special eye clinic, held on Friday (13) at the 56 Division Headquarters in the Wanni provided medical assistance to more than 300 visually-impaired civilians.
This social welfare project, supported by a team of Eye Specialists, Technicians and staff at the Vavuniya District Hospital was proposed by the Assistant Civil Affairs Officer, SFHQ-W, Lieutenant Colonel G. A. L Kithsiri.
Major General H. P Seneviratne, General Officer Commanding 56 Division joining the welfare project gave away a stock of eye glasses to the needy people who were diagnosed for vision ailments.
Members of the ‘Lions’ Club’ at Matara sponsored the donation of those eye glasses to the needy civilians during this mobile clinic.
