The Angoda 'Hirukirana' Social Care Foundation which has organized blood donation campaigns for 21 times since 2003 in order to commemorate the death anniversary of the late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa and brave soldiers and others who sacrificed their lives in Araly Point in 1992 got underway at Somadevi Girls' College, Kotikawatta on 13 August 2023.
On the directions of the Commander Security Forces -West, a group of 25 Army personnel of the 2 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry of the 144 Infantry Brigade of the 14 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ-West voluntarily donated their blood during this annual project.
Certificates were also presented to those who donated blood during the campaign by the organizing committee.
