More than 200 East-Based Troops Give Blood on Army Day

To coincide with the 72nd Army Anniversary, the troops of 9 Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and 6 Gajaba Regiment under command to the 233 Brigade of 23 Division gave their fullest support to conduct a blood donation campaign in close co-operation with Medical Officers of Ampara and Polonnaruwa Hospitals on Monday (11) at Prathiba Hall - Manampitiya.

More than 200 Officers and Other Ranks, serving under command to the Security Force - East (SFHQ-E) and the 233 Brigade volunteered to donate blood to mark the Army Anniversary.

In the meantime, Commander, Security Forces - East Major General Channa Weerasuriya paid a visit to the location and shared a few views with donors and the medical staff.

General Officer Commanding, 23 Division, Major General Nalin Koswatte, Commander, 233 Brigade, Colonel Wasantha Hewage, Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion.
