More than 130 plus troops, including Officers in under command establishments to the 11 Division of the Security Force HQ-Central swiftly responded to the SOS request of the Kandy Teaching Hospital Blood Bank and gave away their blood for use of seriously ill patients on Tuesday (7).
Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, General Officer Commanding, 11 Division HQ supervised the project while it was in progress. Major General Vikum Liyanage, Commander Security Forces - Central has given blessings to the programme.
Medical Officers and staff at the Blood Bank conducted the session.
