More than 125 Riders Vie in Vijayabahu Motocross

The 17th edition of the Vijayabahu Motocross -2019, the annual pet project of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) kicked off on Sunday (25) at Vijayabahu motor racing track in Boyagane in the presence of a huge crowd of motor racing fans.

Major General Sathayapriya Liyanage, Chief of Staff of the Army watched the motor-cross as the Chief Guest and Major General Kumudu Perera, Deputy Chief of Staff attended the event as the Guest of Honour. Major General Chandana Gunawardena, Colonel of the Regiment, VIR welcomed them on arrival at the venue.

125 plus local riders of international level and several riders from Japan, Thailand and India joined the thrilling spectacle.

The event was coloured with 13 events and Sri Lanka Army Commander’s Trophy was grabbed by Madhura Peiris of the Sri Lanka Air Force and the Colonel of the Regiment Trophy was won by the Japanese player. The trophy for the Emerging Rider of the Year went to Kesara Godage while the longest stunt was made by Vinushka Thrimalsha Silva.

The funds raised during this Vijayabahu Motocross - 2019 will be utilized for the welfare projects of the VIR. bridge media | Nike Shoes
