In line with the 74th anniversary of Corps of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME), a monument parade saluted the memory of fallen SLEME War Heroes on Friday (8 Dec) at the School of EME, Gannoruwa premises.
The Commander Army Logistics Command and Colonel Commandant of SLEME, Major General S.P.A.I.M.B Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc attended as the Chief Guest for the commemoration.
Retired Colonel Commandants, Senior Officers, Retired Senior Officers, Officers and close relatives of fallen War Heroes participated in the ceremony.
In addition, alms were offered to 10 Buddhist monks was held on Friday (8 Dec) in remembrance of the fallen SLEME War Heroes.
In line with the 74th anniversary celebration, a ‘Pirith’ chanting and an alms-giving ceremony got underway during 10 - 11 Dec. All arrangements at Gannoruwa were attended by the SLEME Colonel Commandant.
A customary dinner brought the anniversary arrangements to an end.
