Troops of the 573 Infantry Brigade of the 57 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu launched a project to donate school accessories to a group of 50 needy students learning in Bharathipuram Vidyalaya in Kilinochchi on 17 March after inviting the beneficiaries to the 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Headquarters in the area.
The resident monk at Attanagalla Raja Maha Viharaya, Ven. Bukendayaye Chandarathana Thero with the coordination of ‘Lakdaru Yathrawa’ provided necessary financial contribution to the event.
Troops of the 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment provided their maximum support to the success of the distribution following directions and guidelines given by Brigadier Ramith Prasanna, Commander, 573 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer, 9 VIR.
Major General Darshana Wijesekara, Commander Security Forces-Mulaittiv at the invitation of the donors and the Commander, 573 Infantry Brigade joined the distribution as the Chief Guest.
Major General Chandimal Peiris, General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, the Principal at Barathipuram Vidyalaya and Other Ranks participated in the event.
