Plans are now in progress to build a new house for the war-affected physically-handicapped widow, Ms Naganadan Jayawadani, currently residing at Araly West, Wadukkodai, Jaffna with her four children on rent.
The project, initiated by Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, Chairperson, Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit, was to be supported by Mr and Mrs Upali Jayasinghe and Sabeetha Perera who have volunteered to the project after contacting Mrs Rajapaksa. Construction was subsequently handed over to the Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi.
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) after inspecting a piece of land, owned by Ms Jayawadani in Kilinochchi on Saturday (22), has decided to begin construction work at the earliest.
The family undergoing severe hardships due to poverty while simultaneously paying a monthly rent to the house, was to receive this new house, following the generosity of these donors.
