A mobile medical clinic was organized by the 611 Brigade, 61 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni in cooperation with Asiri Hospital, Colombo 5 at Thawsiyakulam GTMS School, Ichchankulam last week.
Around 450 patients, suffering from diseases, like cardiac ailments, diabetes, blood pressure, obesity, etc were treated by medical officers, including the Specialist Cardiologist, Dr Vivek Guptha from India.
In parallel with the mobile medical clinic service, Dr. Vivek Guptha made a cash donation of Rs. 50,000.00 towards the improvement of the Western Band of Tharanikulam Ganesh Vidyalaya.
In addition, the 613 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni organized an Awareness Programme on Agriculture at Tachchanamarathamadu Community Hall on Friday (31), with the participation of about 250 farmers in the area.
These events were organized under the guidance of Major General Boniface Perera, the Commander SFHQ (Wanni), together with directions from Brigadier M. Daulgala, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division with the support of officers and other ranks.
