Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) visited 593 Brigade where he was warmly received by Colonel M.K.S Silva, 593 Brigade Commander on arrival at the Brigade premises on Friday (10).
Mullaittivu Commander on his arrival in accordance with military formalities reviewed the Guard Turnouts at the entrances to the Brigade premise accorded by 19 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops. Later on he planted a tree sapling to remember his maiden visit to the 593 Brigade premises.
On the same day, Inter Unit Drill Competition of the 59 Division, got underway at the 59 Division Grounds and Major General Vithanage attended it too as a guest of honour.
The multi-coloured Drill Display that testifies to the high standards of discipline among members of the Army commenced with the participation of 6 teams.
Deputy General Officers commanding, 59 Division, Brigadier Principal Staff Officer (PSO), Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers of under Command units, officers and a large number of other ranks witnessed the drill competition.
19 Gemunu Watch (GW) team carried the trophy as Champions while 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) team emerged as runners-up.
