MIR Troops Treat Civilians to Free Manioc Treat

A ‘Poson’ Dansala (Manioc) and a spectacle of devotional songs ‘Bethi-Gee Saraniya’ got underway at the Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre on account of the ‘Poson’ Poya.

Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP, Colonel of the Regiment, Mechanized Infantry Regiment and Commander, Security Forces - West closely supervised the project with the close supervision of the Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Brigadier A.M.A. Abeysinghe RWP RSP USP psc.

This programme was held at Dambuluhalmillawewa Model School, Dambulla on Sunday (04 June) on a suggestion of Mrs. Himali Pussella, Chairperson, Mechanized Infantry Regiment-Seva Vanitha Branch,

‘Bethi-Gee’ Saraniya started after lighting of the traditional oil lamp by all the distinguished invitees. 189 students and 15 teachers of the A/Dambuluhalmillawewa Model School, Dambulla and 21 members of Mechanized Infantry Regiment participated in the event by singing devotional songs. In addition, MIR Regimental Musical Band provided music for the Bethi-Gee Saraniya.

Furthermore, the Colonel of the Regiment - Mechanized Infantry Regiment graced the ceremony as the chief guest with Major General H M U Herath RWP RSP USP hdmc psc, the General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, the Commandant, Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre, members of SevaVanitha Branch Mechanized Infantry, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks.
