The Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) marked its 18th Anniversary on 27 February 2025 at the Regimental Centre under the guidance of Major General A.H.A.D Ariyasena RWP RSP USP psc ptsc, the Colonel of the Regiment MIR.
Upon arrival, the Colonel of the Regiment was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Following this, he paid tribute in remembrance of fallen war heroes at the war heroes’ monument. Subsequently, a ceremonial parade was held. He also planted a sapling and joined an All-Ranks lunch to mark the occasion.
Later, the Colonel of the Regiment awarded financial grants to the Mechanized Infantry Boxing Team for securing 4th place in the Inter Regiment Novices Boxing Tournament. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks attended the event.
