Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP, General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR), visited 4 MIR on 23 November 2024.
Upon his arrival, the Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer and all ranks and was accorded a Guard Turnout. To mark the occasion, he planted a sapling on the camp premises.
Later, he addressed the troops of the battalion, emphasising the importance of Mechanized Infantry soldiers and their professional development. He also discussed the issue of drug addiction among soldiers and its impact on both military and civilian life.
Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the visit.
