The 62 Infantry Division held a formal farewell ceremony to bid farewell to its outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General R.A.J.N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc on Monday (14 August).
The outgoing General Officer Commanding of the 62 Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers on arrival and saluted in a Guard Turnout, presented by troops.
Subsequently, troops presented a Guard of Honour and saluted him. After that, a group photograph was taken in front of the Headquarters office complex as a symbol of memory.
The General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division addressed the troops afterwards and extended his sincere gratitude to All Ranks serving in the Division HQ for the support given during his tenure.
Thereafter, an all rank tea enabled the outgoing General Officer Commanding to interact with troops. Towards the end, a token of appreciation was presented to the outgoing General Officer Commanding, appreciative of his inspiration, guidance and methodical command as the General Officer Commanding of the 62 Infantry Division.
