MIC Colours Night Held on Grand Scale

Recognizing and hailing the sports men of the Military Intelligence Corps (MIC), a glittering Colours Night was held at the Sambuddhajayanthi Mandiraya, Colombo 05 recently.

The MIC, having produced a fine assortment of sports personalities to the Army in the past couple of years, took the pride of appreciating the services of the sportsmen during the glittering event.

Colonel Commandant, MIC Major General S.A.P.P. Samarasinghe graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. 20 MIC personnel received colours during this event in the fields of Football, Hockey and Rugby. Thirteen players who have excelled received Army Colours while seven received Defence Services Colours.

Founder of the MIC Lieutenant General (Retd) L.P. Balagalle and past Colonel Commandants of the MIC Major General S.D. Thennakoon and Major General A.S.P. Saheer graced the night as Guests of Honour. The Director Military Intelligence Brigadier W.A. Wanniarachchi and a large number of senior officers were present at the occasion.
