MIC bids Farewell to the Outgoing Colonel Commandant

The troops of Military Intelligence Corps (MIC) bade farewell to the outgoing Colonel Commandant, Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, the Chief of Staff (COS), on 09 April 2024, in a formal ceremony held at the MIC Regimental Headquarters.

The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant of the MIC, upon his arrival. Subsequently, the outgoing Colonel Commandant was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Afterwards, he paid a floral tribute to the memory of fallen MIC War Heroes at the Regimental Monument.

Later on, he was accorded a Guard of Honour at the parade square and posed for group photographs with the MIC troops. Later, the Senior Officer addressed the troops, commending their support during his tenure.

Following this, he participated in an All-Ranks tea and interacted with the troops and civil staff serving in MIC.

Culminating the day’s events, he attended a customary Dinner at the Officer’s Mess and then exchange of mementos was took place. Finally, he penned down some complimentary remarks in the visitors' book.
