The 28th commemorative ceremony held at the War Heroes' Monument in the 1 Special Forces (SF) Regiment on 19 July 2024 honoured the Fallen Heroes of the Battle of Mullaittivu.
The event conducted under the direction of Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, and during the event two Officers, including the late Colonel A.F. Lafir PWV RWP RSP and 36 Other Ranks were commemorated.
The 1 SF also organized a donation programme for the Warnakulasuriya Elders' Home in Madawala Ulpatha, Matale, providing meals and essential items to the residents.
Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the SF participated in both the events.
