The visiting Archbishop Anglican Diocese of Melbourne Rt. Rev. Fr. Dr. Philip Freier and his delegation during a visit to the Jaffna peninsula met Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) at Palaly on Thursday (20).
The delegation, accompanied by Rt. Rev. Diloraj Kanagasabai, Bishop of Colombo received a briefing on current social and security issues, prevailing in the peninsula. He also enlightened the delegation on the Army’s desire to enlist more and more Jaffna youths including females as officers and soldiers.
Archdeacon Jaffna Rev. Fr. S.J. Jeyawerasinghan and Rev. Fr. Daniel of kilinochchi were also present at the meeting .
