Meeting at Mullaittivu Addresses Fishermen's Issues

A special discussion that focused on issues confronting fishermen, inclusive of general security, illegal fishing practices, marine pollution around Mullaittivu coastal areas, etc was held at 593 Brigade conference hall on Wednesday (2).

Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces-Mullaittivu and Major General Priyantha Perera, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division gave a patient hearing to those fisherfolk who have come all the way from Negombo, Chilaw and Udappuwa areas for their livelihood as fishermen. They voiced their grievances and solutions were discussed in order to sustain the fishing industry.
