A team of medical consultants, including 10 specialists and 20 minor staff for the 491st time offered their consultations to over 1000 patients in Mannar District during a full-day medical camp on Saturday (30).
On the directions given by Major General A.K.S Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W), the 54 Division General Officer Commanding, Brigadier M.A.M Dias with the support of 541, 542 and 543 Brigade Headquarters organized the arrangement for the benefit of civilians in Mannar area. It took place at Wannamottai Vidyalaya, headed by Dr Luxman Weerasena and his team who recorded their 491st mobile medical camp in the North and East.
An ad hoc laboratory for medical tests provided reports on the same occasion, enabling the doctors to carry out proper diagnoses for treatment of patients.
The inaugural occasion was attended by Brigadier M.A.M Dias, Dr Luxman Weerasena, Mannar Division Director of Health Services, Mannar Zonal Educational Director, 542 and 543 Brigade Commanders and several other senior citizens in the area.
All those who came for the clinic were also alerted to Dengue epidemic and preventive measures.
