The Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) celebrated its 33rd anniversary amidst military formalities, religious rituals and community programmes on Sunday (Jan 15) under the guidance of Brigadier Chrishantha Fernando, Colonel Commandant, SLAMC, and Director General Army Health Services at its Regimental Headquarters in Werahera.
The day’s itinerary began with the arrival of the Colonel Commandant, SLAMC at the HQ. Brigadier Mahen Salwathura, Centre Commandant, SLAMC, warmly welcomed the day's Chief Guest before he was saluted by SLAMC troops in a colourful Guard Turnout and a ceremonial parade.
Later he attended a simple religious event in the presence of members of the Maha Sangha and joined All Rank refreshments and a subsequent lunch treat.
Meanwhile, SLAMC troops organized a cricket tournament to enhance the comradeship among troops during Jan 03 - 09. They also donated a stock of king coconuts to the Apeksha Hospital at Maharagama.
