PRESS RELEASE
A SERIES of newspaper reports, published in the most recent past on the arrest and interrogation of military personnel over the assassination of “Sunday Leader” editor Lasantha Wickramathunga are misleading and far from the factual realities.
Sri Lanka Army categorically refutes these exaggerated and false newspaper reports which in turn have created wrong impressions and misunderstanding among the public as well as the Security Forces.
The Media revelation that former Intelligence Head was going to be questioned is also far from truth. These exaggerated reports, needless to mention, tend to send wrong signals to the public and those in the service and confuse the military establishment. (Ends)
